MEMBERSHIP INFO & APPLICATION

SDI is open for membership to Malaysians and non-Malaysians: non-Malaysians could become Associate Members. Those interested in becoming members have to contribute to SDI by writing papers/articles on development in the Sarawak Development Journal and Channel-K (member's newsletter) or by presenting seminar or conference papers.

The number of members of the Institute (SDI) is growing. These include the Ordinary Membership, Associate Membership and Corporate Membership. If you have any queries on the updated list of the membership, please contact us.

INSTITUTE'S MEMBERSHIP

Currently, the Institute has about 148 ordinary members, 8 associate members and 5 corporate members.

MEMBERSHIP CRITERION & BENEFITS

Criterion for Ordinary & Associate Member

a. Submit an application form (online application form is also available) together with an article on development (3,000 words or more); or
b. Present a paper in the seminars or conferences organised by SDI

1. Ordinary Membership

a. 25% discount on registration fees for conferences & seminars organised by SDI
b. 20% discount for SDI's publications
c. Participation in forums, seminars, discussions and talks on current issues

2. Associate Membership

a. 25% discount on registration fees for conferences & seminars organised by SDI
b. Complementary SDI Journal for members not living in Sarawak
c. Participation in forums, seminars, discussions and talks on current issues

3. Corporate Membership

Corporate membership has been introduced since early 2001. It is open to organisations & corporations

  • Opportunities to establish mutually-beneficial partnership or networking with other organisations dedicated to the betterment of the State
  • Complimentary materials for each event organised by SDI
  • 25% discount rate for participation in any fee-paying events organised by SDI
  • Complimentary copies of SDI's publications
  • Participation in forums, seminars, discussions and talks on current issues

    Criterion for Corporate Membership
    a. For organisations with LESS than 50 persons, entrance fee is RM3,500 & annual fee is RM1,500
    b. For organisations with MORE than 50 persons, entrance fee is RM5,000 & annual fee is RM2,000
