KUCHING: Sarawak needs to capitalise on its huge land area especially along
the Pan Borneo Highway in order to transform its agriculture sector, said
Pemandu president and chief executive officer Datuk Seri Idris Jala.
KUCHING: More than 1,500 delegates from local and international
agriculture and agribusiness sector, academic and research institutions and
the public sector particularly from the Asean region will converge here for
the International Conference on Agriculture and Agrobased Industry
Sarawak (Icaas) 2017.
MAKAN-MAKAN Sarawak Pesta Makanan Melanau 2017 yang diadakan di
Kuching, baru-baru ini menyaksikan lebih daripada 150 150 pengunjung
tempatan dan pelancong dari luar negara mencuba pelbagai hidangan
masakan masyarakat etnik Melanau dan mempelajari kebudayaan serta tradisi
KUCHING: After a series of ‘MakanMakan’ events featuring ethnic cuisine and
food culture in conjunction with major festivals like Chinese New Year, Gawai
Dayak, Hari Raya Aidiltri and Deepavali, this year’s ‘MakanMakan Sarawak
2017’ will start with the rich Melanau food culture.
Essentially, the development of agriculture cannot stop at the
traditional style. It must be modernised in order to drag more
people into some form of organisation to feed a bigger and
growing market. The world’s demand for commodities is growing
as the population increases every year.
