KUCHING 1st December 2020 – The Land Custody and Development Authority (LCDA) Tower was named winner of the ‘Energy Efficiency Building Award – New and Existing Building Category’ at the Asean Energy Awards 2020, hosted and virtually-broadcast by the Asean Centre for Energy (ACE) in Vietnam recently.
LCDA represented Malaysia in the regional-level event following its achievement at the earlier National Energy Awards (NEA) 2020 (Malaysia), where it won the ‘Energy Efficient Designed Building’ category and placed runner-up in the ‘Green Building (Large)’ category.
The nominees for NEA 2020 comprised organisations that had transformed their operations or buildings to become more energy-efficient, as well as those that had successfully implemented renewable energy systems to reduce their carbon footprint.
Receiving the awards from ACE were LCDA Holdings Sdn Bhd chairman Tan Sri Datuk Amar Abdul Aziz Dato Husain and LCDA general manager Monaliza Zaidel via virtual broadcast.
“This achievement validates our capability in implementing sustainable practises, especially in urban renewal and property development projects.
“Such recognition would encourage us to further expand the benefits of efficient energy management in our future projects,” said LCDA in a statement.
LCDA is a state-run agency, established under its own Ordinance in 1981 to carry out land development in Sarawak.
